Desmond: Accounting's servers are "\brontothunder" and "\bonehead". Marketing has "\terribledactyl". Our web farm is, collectively, "Tyrannos".

Owen: But why Dinosaucers?
Desmond: It's a tradition. Like characters from Lord of the Rings. Or planets from Serenity. Or the periodic table of elements.

Owen: Why don't we use those?
Desmond (holding a Dinosaucer action figure in each hand): "The Dinosaucers are leaving, Bossasaur...!" "Well? Follow them!"

Dinosaucers

When I came up with the premise for this week's strips ("server names are nerdy") I asked Paul for some suggestions for a truly nerdtastic source of names. When he suggested Dinosaucers it took some convincing for me to believe such a thing ever really existed, and I still don't really believe it. It sounds like a perfect parody of a kid's TV show. Frankly I'd rather think someone cobbled together a blurry animated short and a Wikipedia entry than live with such a travesty existing in the same universe as, well, me.
