Everyone's talking about software patents but no one's doing anything about them. Except me. I am engaging in civil disobedience. I vow not to invent anything until this problem is solved.
I invite you to join me in this important fight.
Owen: I was reading about patents...
Desmond (banging his fist on the table): Patents! Scourge of the software industry!
Desmond (turning red): Common-sense concepts owned by do-nothing trolls! They should be hanged until dead! Roasted on a spit! Flayed alive!
Owen: So we shouldn't get any?
Desmond: We should churn them out by the dozens. Only way to protect ourselves.
Remember life before Powerpoint? Us neither, but archeological records show that our primitive ancestors drew clip art on slates with pig's blood. And, really, haven't we lost a little something since then? Maybe we just need the right transition, like "break slate", or "put down old slate, pick up new slate". Meanwhile we've got this new t-shirt, inspired by this comic, designed for slide monkeys extraordinaire.
P.S. Looking for our book preorder? It's here in a whole other store!
